Hmm how to start this one…This national park was beautiful to look at. From a distance… maybe even locked in your car as you drive through it. I should have known better. Where there are mosquitos there are spiders and when you are a swamp and consistently have mosquitos you there-for have even bigger spiders. Banana spiders. If you’re feeling brave Google them. The fear started when you have to walk under a shelter that’s riddled with these huge spiders.

And It would have been a nice relaxing walk through the swamp if you didn’t have to walk on a boardwalk that had spiders dangling over your head.

Other than that it was really nice. Very pretty scenery and every so often there are little facts to learn about the history and about the different plants/trees in the area.

At one point this was home to the Cherokee, Catawba and Creek Indians. Then during slavery this area served as a refuge for slaves escaping due to its dense forestry and swamplands.

Surprisingly, I only left with three good sized mosquito bites. I wasn’t prepared that’s for certain. I mean look at me? Where the heck are my long sleeves and pants? I don’t know what I was thinking.

Till next time. We love you all. Thanks for coming along- The Miller Family.
