The Great Smoky Mountains

So far this has been our best experience! We love the Smoky mountains so much we plan to get back here for a travel nursing assignment as soon as we can! Or well as soon as the snow starts to go away. We had so much fun exploring the mountains and mountain sides. “Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park” is the name of the wonderful campground we stayed at. Had a beautiful view and fun pool for us to swim in on the hot days.

We hiked many trails and decided we were going to just stop on the side of the road and climb down to find this waterfall! And I’m glad we did because there shortly after other people started following suite and joined in the fun.

Even found a cool little spot to jump off the rocks into the water. Took some convincing but Anthony joined in!

The day we went to get our passport stamped we decided to try a trail and hike to one of the harder waterfalls and on the way up we stumbled across a bunch of other hikers standing frozen in their spots quiet. A mother bear and her three cubs were snacking on a bee hive along the trail. Thinking back now it was extremely stupid and scary for us to be standing there but ya know they say you don’t have to be the fastest person you just can’t be the slowest person. So I think we would have been alright…maybe.

Since we were in Tennessee we of course had to go to the Dolly Partons Dixie stampede show. Which had Tanners attention the entire time! It was a lot of fun. He even got picked out of the crowd to do the “kids lasso” it was cute.

We also went and visited Anakeesta Mountain which was absolutely stunning and a fun experience. I wouldn’t say it’s an amusement park but it’s a park in the sky for kids. It was so much fun. We got to play in play houses with netting under us that was suspended in the air. ( by we I mean Anthony and Bubs ) We ate tacos on the top of the mountain! ( they were delicious ) and got to walk through the Astra Lumina experience. Which is a night walk through a botanical garden with light art that portrays “a journey to discover the wonder of visiting stars.” Was a cool experience would have been cooler if you were someone who liked to trip. ( yep I said it ) mushrooms are natural people. Don’t come for me.

Now since we had such a blast I do have to mention we picked the wrong weekend to visit. It was the Jeep jamboree so let me tell you was it jam packed with people and their jeeps. A little too many people but we did have fun.

Till next time! Love you all! Thanks for coming along with us- The Miller Family
