Oohh boy did Tanner have the best time! Mariah and her boyfriend Lucas came to visit us for a couple days. We all had such a blast especially Tanner. Who couldn’t leave her side. That boy loves her so much.

We visited the McRaven house. Which is supposed to be the most haunted house in Mississippi. It’s been featured on multiple different tv shows and YouTube channels. Lots of deaths happened and a burial ground was behind it. SO of course we went there with Mariah. Who likes all that scary nonsense.

Couple weird things happened in the house but I really feel like it’s because it’s an old house. The most bizarre thing I feel is that the house is literally in a neighborhood that looks ran down. But yet no one has tried robbing the house or vandalizing it. Some of the antiques are worth thousands of dollars in that place. I wish we could have met some locals and asked some of their stories they have heard or witnessed.

Tanner made friends with a kitty. I’m convinced it was a protector of the house. Or guardian. We named him binx.

They said sometimes you can see things in mirrors that aren’t really there. So we snapped some pictures hoping to catch something. No luck.

They had haunted night time tours but absolutely not our cup of tea. Anthony and I don’t do scary stuff.
We did learn where “bite the bullet” and “sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite” comes from.

During the civil war when they had to remove limbs from soldiers without pain medication they would have them bite a bullet to help.

Sleep tight is from the beds not having a box spring mattress. They used ropes. So eventually those would loosen so they’d tighten them to sleep on and it made it easy to remove any bed bugs by just smacking the mattress.
In this time frame they also used blueberries to stain the walls. You can see in this picture the blueish green walls.

We took them to the nature park.

And had a picnic in the amphitheater area. It was a beautiful day.
And like the last post we visited New Orleans.

Attached at the hip.

We also had some rainy days. Which called for Mario cart!

It was such a blast having them come to visit. 5 days flew by! But we had such a great time. Wish I took more photos but we were so busy living in the moment.

Well till next time. We love you all. Thanks for coming along. -The Miller Family
